Feast of the Transfiguration 2016

Today, Greek Catholics traditionally celebrate the Feast of the Transfiguration. On this feast, many believers will take the first grapes of the season to be blessed by the priests.

We wish our fellow Greek Catholics, our Orthodox brothers, and all Christians of good will a blessed Feast of the Transfiguration!

Thou wast Transfigured on the Mount, O Christ God,
Revealing Thy glory to Thy disciples as far as they could bear it.
Let Thy everlasting Light shine upon us sinners!
Through the prayers of the Theotokos, O Giver of Light, glory to Thee!

-Troparion of the Transfiguration (Tone 7)
